Brewers soak Giants, 10-8

Jonathan Sanchez had a shaky start for the Giants, walking five batters (one with the bases loaded) and giving up three hits and six earned runs. Fred Lewis, Aubrey Huff, Nate Schierholtz and Aaron Rowand all hit home runs for the Giants. Buster Posey continued his hot spring hitting (.429) by going 2-for-2 with two runs batted in. Rowand is batting .500 this spring, third best in Cactus League play.
Other notes:
- Tim Lincecum will make his next start Tuesday against Cleveland. It will be on a full four days’ rest.
- Madison Bumgarner will be watched closely when he makes his next start during Monday night’s split-squad game against Texas. Bumgarner has struggled this spring and is behind Todd Wellemeyer and Kevin Pucetas for the coveted no. 5 spot in the Giants rotation.
- Right-hander Joe Martinez, another fifth starter candidate who allowed four runs in one inning in his lone spring appearance, believes that the inflammation in his throwing elbow will have subsided enough to allow him to resume throwing in a couple of days.
- First baseman Travis Ishikawa (torn ligaments in left foot) might be ready to resume playing in about a week, according to manager Bruce Bochy. He ran the bases before today’s game.
- Posey allowed three stolen bases Sunday and has given up six SBs this spring.
