Giants could move Huff to left field

According to John Shea of the SF Chronicle, San Francisco 1B Aubrey Huff said he’s open to playing left field if the Giants decide to promote Buster Posey to play first base.

As noted here before, Huff has played outfield during his career and with decent success.

Another way Huff could move to left: With second baseman Freddy Sanchez (Monday) and shortstop Edgar Renteria (next Sunday) coming off the DL soon, shortstop Juan Uribe could move to third and Pablo Sandoval to first.

The Giants’ current left fielder, Mark DeRosa, has missed six games with a left wrist injury, and it’s likely he will go on the disabled list (and could require in-season surgery).
