The most interesting man in the world?

He has a legitimate shot at Comeback Player of the Year.

He’s a Gold Glove candidate who has not committed an error since 2003.

He is second among all National League leadoff hitters with a .372 on-base percenatge.

He is on pace to break the Giants’ SF-era record for doubles.

No, he’s not the most interesting man in the world and he doesn’t drink Dos Equis.

He’s Andres Torres, who has captured the hearts and minds of Giants fans everywhere. Torres talks about his struggle with ADD in an article written by Paul Gutierrez of the Sacramento Bee.

In the article, Torres says, “It’s hard for me to stay focused. There’s a lot of distractions out there.”

That’s why he admittedly takes 40mg of Ritalin per day. He was diagnosed in 2002 (back when he was with the Detroit Tigers) but didn’t start taking the pills until 2007.

Credit dude for being able to go public with a condition that has been stigmatized in America for a long time. That makes him the most respectable man in the world, in my opinion.
