VIDEO: Bonds tells TMZ he wants Giants to "beat Philly’s ass!"

Let’s face it. The face of the Giants is not Barry Bonds. That era — whether you like it or not — is over. Still, there are those (read: Giants haters) who will always associate their disdain for the Home Run King with the Giants.

No matter that the 2010 Giants are all about Hippy Trash (Tim Lincecum), The Rookie Phenom (Buster Posey), the Kung Fu Panda (Pablo Sandoval), and the Certified Ninja (Brian Wilson).

The national media has not forgotten how much they hate Bonds. So when the Giants honor the 2002 National League pennant-winning team before tomorrow night’s NLCS Game 3 at AT&T Park, don’t expect the Peter Gammons and the Tom Verduccis of the sports world to get all warm and fuzzy about it.

And why should they?

They’ve hated Bonds ever since he first told them all to fuck off just a few short years into his Giant career.

The one place Bonds knows he is liked is in San Francisco. He’s still the man. The legend. Steroid use or not (and no court has ever convicted him of using), he’s loved here. He’s family.

Oh, and he’s still a huge Giants fan at heart. Just look at this video taken of Bonds by TMZ, who told the cameraman, “I don’t really have fans in SF, I have family…so if you think I’m [rooting] for Philadelphia…forget it!”
