VIDEO: Freddy Sanchez visits George Lopez show
Seems like everyone’s on the post-World Series circuit now. Brian Wilson recently appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. And, last night, San Francisco Giants second baseman Freddy Sanchez appeared on “Lopez Tonight” with comedian George Lopez.
George Lopez’s TV sitcom is hilarious and wrought with Hispanic jokes and other Lopez tomfoolery. His late night talk show on the other hand? Lame sauce.
Still, with Sanchez on the set, I had to tune in…
Sanchez came out and delivered an autographed baseball bat for Lopez and then the two sat down to talk baseball. Sanchez admitted to being a lifetime Dodger fan (as is Lopez). Sanchez, who grew up in Los Angeles and attended Burbank High School, says winning the World Series still hasn’t sunk in, and that he wakes up every day waiting for his ring.
“Any Latino that can get a ring without having to take it from someone, I’m a fan of,” Lopez said.
Lopez then asked Freddy, who lives in Arizona, if he had been pulled over yet. “Not yet,” replied Sanchez. “I’ve got my papers and everything with me so I’m straight.”
Sanchez, who was wearing his Giants World Series Championship t-shirt under a black suede jacket, then talked about his childhood friends in LA who were upset when he got traded from Pittsburgh to San Francisco. In fact, one of his buddies lost a bet with Freddy and had to wear a Giants shirt and cap (which Lopez showed on the monitor).
Then, Lopez and Sanchez both downed a shot of Jameson’s Irish Whiskey.
