Matt Cain becomes a father

Pitching wasn’t the only thing San Francisco Giants starter Matt Cain worked on during Spring Training last year.

According to Comcast Sports Net Bay Area reporter Amy Gutierrez, he and his wife, Chelsea, became proud parents of a new baby daughter — Hartley Mae Cain — yesterday morning.

Matt and Chelsea met during Spring Training a few years back when she was a sociology major at Arizona State University. Safe to say, when little Hartley grows up, Shotgun Cain (Matt’s nickname) will take on a whole new meaning.
