Lasorda disses Giants

For the record, I’ve never liked Tommy Lasorda.

Many other San Francisco Giants fans will say how the former L.A. Dodgers skipper is “a great ambassador for the game.” To which I say, bullshit. He’s a duckin’ fodger through and through. The only time I’ve ever cheered for the fat slob is when he’s gotten himself ejected from a game. That’s right, Tommy, I’m laughing at you, not with you.

So trust me when I say I’m not at all happy about the comments Lasorda made about the Giants yesterday when he showed up for a banquet in Visalia, Calif. to celebrate the Visalia Rawhide, a Class-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. (If there’s food, you can bet Lasorda will be there.)

Somebody got the bright idea to ask Lasorda how he felt about the Giants winning the 2010 World Series. Lasorda was not amused. At first, he pretended to not even acknowledge the question. Than he answered it the only way one would expect a man who claims he bleeds Dodger blue and calls Dodger Stadium “Blue Heaven on Earth.”

“Who was that? I didn’t hear that. What was that? Well it took them 50 years. It may take them 50 more. I don’t know, they have a good pitching staff so that’s enough about them.”

I’m guessing Lasorda had better things to do than praise the Giants — like choke down another shovelful of spaghetti and meatballs. That’s alright, Tommy, I’m still laughing at you.
