Torres nominated for “Heart & Hustle” award

San Francisco Giants outfielder Andres Torres has been nominated for the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association’s 2011 Heart & Hustle Award.

The honor is voted on by Major League alumni and active players and is presented annually to the player who “demonstrates a passion for the game of baseball and best embodies the values, spirit and traditions of the game.”

The Heart & Hustle Award will be presented at the 2011 Legends for Youth Dinner at the Millennium Broadway Hotel in New York City on Nov. 3.

Torres’ heartwarming story of how he overcame ADHD to become a World Series hero is being documented in the new indie film, Gigante.

    He gets my vote. He definately puts everything into playing bb. He has the speed to get on base & chase the ball down on the field.
