VIDEO: Mark DeRosa addresses Penn football players

Before he was a Major League Baseball player, DeRosa was a star quarterback at the University of Pennsylvania.

Guess which San Francisco Giant played quarterback for the University of Pennsylvania back in the early to mid ’90s?

That would be utility man Mark DeRosa, who visited with the Penn football team (not to be confused with that other football program in PA) over the weekend.

According to the Penn Football twitter account, “DeRosa spoke for about 15 minutes and took questions until there were none left.”

In the videos below, you can watch DeRosa talk to the Quakers’ players and joke about things like flunking midterms and “hanging out in the pocket until the bitter end.”

DeRosa wasn’t too shabby of a QB back in the day. Under then-second year coach Al Bagnoli, DeRosa led his Quakers to two Ivy League championships. As the starting quarterback, he was a perfect 10-0 in 1993 and went 9-0 in ’94.

He’s somewhat of a legend at UPenn, which is why Bagnoli brought him in to talk to the current team.
