Giants re-sign Emmanuel Burriss
by Troy Nelson, 22gigantes.com
The San Francisco Giants have signed infielder Emmanuel Burriss to a one-year contract. Financial terms are not yet known. The 26-year old switch hitter was eligible for arbitration.
Burriss had a down year in 2011 and spent most of the year at Triple-A Fresno where he batted .297/.386/.389 with 2 HR, 10 RBI and 24 stolen bases in 45 games.
Burriss has been plagued by injuries over the past few years. A broken foot in 2009 caused him to miss significant time, but he appears to be fully healthy now.
The Giants front office recently spoke about Burriss’ versatility, even going so far as saying he could spend some time in the outfield next season, in addition to covering second base, third base and shortstop.

Damn we’re making some big moves, we are already an instant favorite to win the World Series!
