2005: After trying to sign the All-Star outfielder twice as a free agent, the Giants finally acquire Steve Finley (.222, 12 HR, 54 RBI) in trade with the Dodgers which sends third baseman Edgardo Alfonzo (.277, 2 HR, 43 RBI) to Los Angeles. The veteran infielder appeared in only 109 games the previous season due to injuries.

    FYI… Dave Kingman was the top overall draft pick in the 1970 draft. The eventual three-time All-Star spent the first four years of his illustrious career in San Francisco before the Giants traded him to the New York Mets for $150,000. Kingman blasted 442 career home runs in 16 seasons, with 77 of those jacks coming with the Giants.
