Former San Francisco Giants outfielder—and 2010 post-season hero—Cody Ross has signed a contract to play for the Boston Red Sox, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

The one-year deal is for $3 million dollars plus incentives, tweets ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick.

Ross, 31, became a fan favorite in San Fran after his heroics in the 2010 post-season when he batted .294/.390/.686 (1.076 OPS) with 5 HR and 10 RBI in 15 games. Two of his homers came against Phillies ace Roy Halladay, prompting fans to note that Cody Ross spelled backwards is ‘Sorry Doc.’

The Atlanta Braves, Colorado Rockies and New York Mets were also recently linked to Ross.

Well, the guy’s gotta go somewhere if the G-Men don’t make him a suitable offer. That’s the way it goes in MLB…guy’s gotta earn a living.
