Anthony Rizzo blasted a deep, two-run home run off Sergio Romo in the seventh inning and the Chicago Cubs beat the San Francisco Giants 5-4 today at Scottsdale Stadium. [box score]

It was the first home run allowed by Romo since June 21, 2011, when Alexi Casilla took him deep in an interleague game against the Twins.

Giants starter Madison Bumgarner looked good today, striking out two in the first frame. He went four innings, allowing three runs on seven hits and finished with four strikeouts.

Top Giants hitter: Pagan (2-for-4, 2B, 3B, RBI)
Top Giants pitcher: Hembree (1 IP, 1 H, 2 K)
Key moment of the game: Rizzo’s 2-run bomb to right field off Romo in the 7th to give the Cubs a 5-1 lead.

The Giants (8-4-1) will host the Cleveland Indians (3-7) tomorrow at Scottsdale Stadium at 1:05 p.m. (PT). Matt Cain (1-0, 0.00) will face Derek Lowe (0-1, 5.40).

NOTES:  Angel Pagan ripped an RBI triple in the 5th inning to plate Brandon Crawford, who had singled … Mike Fontenot entered the game as a defensive replacement at second base in the 7th inning. Fontenot had missed the previous week with a groin injury. The second baseman roped an RBI double in the 8th inning and pulled into second base very gingerly. One batter later, he raced home on a Chris Stewart single.
