Giants ink Posey, 18 others to one-year contracts
The San Francisco Giants’ front office was very busy Friday, signing 19 of their youngest players to one-year contracts, most notably Buster Posey and Madison Bumgarner.
According to San Francisco Chronicle beat writer Henry Schulman, Posey was given a $615,000 contract, a $40,000 increase in pay over last year. Bumgarner, as reported earlier today, signed for “around $575,000.”
According to the Associated Press, the other 17 players to receive one-year, non-guaranteed contracts are: pitchers Eric Surkamp, Dan Runzler, Hector Correa, Steve Edlefsen and Danny Otero; infielders Brandon Crawford, Brandon Belt, Ehire Adrianza, Charlie Culberson, Conor Gillaspie, Angel Villalona, and Brett Pill; outfielders Tyler Graham, Roger Kieschnick and Francisco Peguero; and catchers Hector Sanchez and Chris Stewart. Each of these contracts are believed to be worth $480,000, the league minimum.
