Chris Dominguez, normally a third baseman, snagged two very impressive, over-the-shoulder catches playing first base Saturday. The San Francisco Giants made nine more spring cuts this morning, according to a tweet from Andrew Baggarly at Comcast SportsNet.

They have reassigned infielders Chris Dominguez and Nick Noonan, outfielder Juan Perez, catcher Jackson Williams, and pitchers Justin FitzgeraldMitch Lively, and Matt Yourkin.

They also optioned two players from the 40-man roster to Triple-A Fresno: pitcher Hector Correa and speedy outfielder Tyler Graham.

As a note of reference, non-roster invitees get reassigned to the Giants’ minor-league camp, while players on the 40-man roster get optioned to a specific minor-league team.

The latest round of cuts leaves 43 players in camp, 10 of whom are non-roster invitees. You can view my updated non-roster invitees list here.

(Evidently, Perez will leave after today’s game since he is penciled in as the starting right fielder in this afternoon’s game against the Padres.) *** (UPDATE 11:54 a.m.): San Francsico Chronicle reporter Hank Schulman sheds a little light here. Reassigned players (i.e., non-roster invitees) can play in exhibition games, but not optioned players (i.e., 40-man roster).

I see Gregor Blanco, on the 25 man roster, but not on the 40 man, or depth chart what did I miss. Where is Conner G.

All good moves. I like what I’ve seen of Yourkin, he could be a good call-up at some point in the season.
