Giants trim roster, send six to minors

The San Francisco Giants trimmed their Cactus League roster from 66 to 60 today, sending six players—all pitchers—to their minor league camp.

According to Hank Schulman of the San Francisco ChronicleJake DunningAustin FleetStephen HarroldDavid QuinowskiSeth Rosin, and Shawn Sanford were the first group of players to go.

Fleet appeared in two spring games, threw 1.1 scoreless innings, with two strikeouts.

Quinowski appeared in one game, walking a batter in a third of an inning.

Sanford struck out one in his one inning of work.

Dunning appeared in two games, and allowed two runs (one earned) on two hits and a walk in two innings. He fanned three.

Harrold made one appearance and gave up a run on two hits in one inning.

Rosin pitched one inning and struck out the side, although he did allow a solo home run to former Giant Travis Ishikawa back on March 5.

The Giants will need to trim their roster to 25 players by Opening Day, April 4.

    they say football is the most popular sport now but i think nothing beats the excitment and anticipation of Opening Day. GO GIANTS !
