Good By Kindle Customer Quick, second chance love story. When they were eighteen, Beckett let Christian down in the worst way when he turned his back on him breaking his heart in the process. They haven't spoken in ten years because of it. But when Beckett's life starts to spiral, he gives in and calls Christian, not really having a plan as to why.Christian has loved Beckett his entire life, though the last ten years he would have denied that. When Beck calls him he knows something is wrong and all he wants to do is fix things for him like he did their entire lives.I wasn't sure how I felt about how quick forgiveness was given for what Beck did, but I hold a mean grudge. It worked in their story, they never stopped being the others soul mate, even through the hurt.It was good to see the other guys and the banter between them. And hello, a cameo for Riley's very own Dom!! 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Great addition to the Crossroads series; though this was pretty short in comparison By Mrs Readsalot I really loved the books in this series. I actually don't think there is any Riley Hart book I have NOT liked. (My first M/M book was one of hers that I stumbled across. Wow, lucky me!) You will love Beck and you will love Christian. Their dialogue can be funny, for example:(asking about coffee) "How do you take it?" "Bitter like my soul."ANDBeck, responding to something Christian has said:"I'm in excellent shape, huh? I think I Might need you to expand on that a little bit. Exactly what is it about my shape that's excellent? As many details as possible please."The only knock on this book is that it was so short. I just wasn't expecting it to be so short because I don't recall any of the others being that way. Whereas the others in the series were akin to a 7-course meal complete with dessert, this book was more like appetizers. I kept thinking of the last book where SO MUCH happened. In this book, really this is what happens: Beck impulsively calls Chris out of the blue after years apart. Chris impulsively goes to visit Beck. A metric f-ton of sex happens. They cogitate endlessly about how they are going to make this work. And then they do; the end.Don't get me wrong, this book is worth reading. Mostly because the characters are so appealing, characters from prior books make an appearance (fun!) and the writing is good. I just wanted MORE for Beck and Christian. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Second-chance, friends-to-lovers M/M novella By K. Bias A passionate and sweet second-chance, friends-to-lovers novella about motocross star Beckett Monroe and his childhood/teenage best friend, Christian Foster. Their past ended in hurt feelings and without further contact for ten years. But one phone call brings an opportunity to make peace with the past and rebuild.Beckett has been losing his drive and excitement for the sport he loves and is in need of a break. Chris has been successful, but he never really got over the loss of Beck. Sometimes achieving your dreams does not mean as much without someone to share it with. And once they are in contact again it is apparent how much they truly missed each other. But these men lead different lives and do have some issues to deal with and overcome. It is about a true connection, friendship, healing, and priorities.(Quote) Whatever it is that you love, eventually you need more. That doesn’t mean you don’t love it. It just means you’re ready to let yourself love more than just that thing.Fans of this series will enjoy this short novella. Due to its length it is not quite as developed as the full stories, but Riley Hart is able to deliver likable, believable characters with depth, build strong relationships, and easily immerse you in their story.I loved that it brings back all of our friends from this series: Landon and Rod, Nick and Bryce, and Justin and Drew. I adore all of these guys and how they include new people in their supportive and fun group.(Quote)“Damn. I didn’t realize there were this many out, gay or bi men in Small Town, Virginia.” Landon let out a stiff breath. “You can say that again. I guess we’re just lucky. We don’t let anyone steal our sparkle here.”We are also introduced to Christian's quirky California roommate, Quinn, and I could see him inspiring his own story in this series.
