22gigantes.com - Elizabeth finds she is not the person she thought she was. After refusing the heir of Longbourn, her mother evicts her from her home declaring she did not do her duty to Mrs. Bennet by providing her mother a home. She also learns Mr. and Mrs. Bennet are not her parents; instead, she is the daughter of the beloved sister, who died in child birth, of Mr. Robert Bennet, and her father is unknown to the family. When Elizabeth is faced with major changes in her life, she can either accept them or allow them to disrupt her life completely; however, she cannot help but ask what will happen to her. She regrets she is not a lady of independent means, so she must contemplate seeking service, but what, she wonders, is she suited for. Through all of this upheaval, what help might Mr. Darcy provide for the lady he is trying not to fall in love with, and how might her new situation affect his feelings for Miss Elizabeth Bennet? This is a full length novel. Warning: There is one scene of violence but the scene is not graphically detailed. There are, however, enough details to show the reader what happens.

Good Story, but Needs Work By Grammar Warden 73 This was an interesting and engaging story, and was a good way to pass about six hours. Yes; it was a long story, but the plot didn't drag at all, which can sometimes be a problem in longer stories. However, whoever proof-read the document before publication didn't do a very good job. Wrong words, missing words and extraneous words in sentences did jar me out of the narrative on multiple occasions.A frequent thing I've noticed lately in JAFF is people using the word 'pour' when they mean 'pore', e.g. they spent the day pouring over Debrett's peerage instead of PORING over. Another thing that I find jarring is the number of writers that use the term 'Fall' for the pre-Winter season - in the UK it's Autumn (and I believe some parts of American dialect also use Autumn rather than Fall). I'm resigned to US spellings as I have to pick my battles but I find it very difficult to tolerate wrong words. My 'screen name' may well be Grammar Warden 73 (based on what a former colleague once called me), but I know better than to attempt proof-reading anything official that I write, and if I were to publish a book I would treat it with the same respect and ask someone in whose abilities I trusted to give it a thorough going-over.But I did enjoy this story and would happily buy more from this author - I would encourage her, however, to find a good proof-reader to lessen readers' frustrations. 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Intriguing idea, sadly saddled with ediiting issues By Amazon Customer First off, I am compelled to say that I found the plot of this novel to be intriguing. I have read several P&P variations, but none quite like this one. However, this book needs to go through a much more thorough editing process if it is do do the author's concept any justice at all. It is riddled with typos and grammatical mistakes on every page, which is very distracting. What would also be beneficial would be to prune the book of the redundancy and unimportant information that weighs down the plot and the interesting themes present (for example, misogyny, women's rights, independence, etc.). The final problem for me in this book is the lack of growth on Elizabeth's part, making her a dreaded Mary Sue type of character. Her lack of sympathy toward a victim of a violent and sadistic assault and the victim blaming is problematic in this characterization of Elizabeth. The author dances around the issue, but doesn't tackle it head on. I would like to see more inteospection from Lizzy and a little remorse. If the author were to take the time to address these issues, I think this would be a very respectable addition to any P&P enthusiasts library. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Enjoyable 3.5 stars By Jules I do agree fully with the first reviewer. A spell check and punctuation is required, it was also a little overwritten in areas making it waffle somewhat. But it was a good solid story with a interesting storyline therefore I did enjoy this book. I will happily read any others this author may write in the future. So don't be dissuaded in purchasing this book because of our honest opinions as you will miss out on a very good story.
