By John Black What attracted me to the Dash Diet Solution was its one of the best diet way i know. The Dash Diet is for high blood pressure, and I don't have it, but I know I don't want it! I struggle with high blood sugar and carb cravings from yo-yo dieting. Rita Rice's The Dash Diet educated me. I love following the Dash low-salt, protein-rich, whole grain and dairy based diet. I was already sold on the benefits of exercise. One of the many researched-based tips in the Dash Diet book was to do daily exercise without lowering blood sugar too much. Ditto snacking on protein-rich foods.The author layout of this book is very good and the material is very well presented. I also like the sections at the end which offer dairy-free, vegatarian and gluten-free alternatives. Also, many of the recipes can still be altered to one's own preferences and made Vegan, for example. As always, experiment with the variations and keep a log of the results to know what works and what doesn't. The best tests of all are the scale, BP monitor and blood test, there's just no arguing with fact.With the help of the Dash Diet, I believe I am now situated to follow the lifestyle choices appropriate to my young body and mind. If you presently struggle with any of these things, let me recommend the Dash Diet to you. You are worth it. I learned how to aim for progress instead of perfection. I find that this book outlines a plan for reducing high blood pressure through diet that is very helpful. And it is great that it can help her lose her weight as well.Five stars for the information about how to eat healthy and lower our blood pressure, plus meal plans and recipes. We have tried some recipes and find them tasty and easy to follow. It had a few chicken recipes that sound good. That is about all my family eats. I find this book very helpful, considering the fact that I have been finding it difficult to lose weight for a long time now. What I found most helpful about this book is that, it does not cause any starvation, and I only have to reduce my calories by few hundreds. Dash Diet has helped me to feel better, especially with the lowering of my high blood pressure. It has also helped me pay more attention to the sodium amount in each food I choose, and I watched as the extra pounds fall off each passing week.
