Best Review of The Earl's Bargain (historical Regency Romance):
Most helpful customer reviews 10 of 10 people found the following review helpful. Poor editing? By Clover Interesting enough for a light, casual read. The female heroine was a bit simple in that she professed to be a deep thinker on social issues but did not appear to be able to see both sides which is necessary for true intelligence. My main complaint with this and other books of this type being written these days is the lack of historical research put into them. (try reading Georgette Heyer books and her biography which really shows how she researched every point)To have sentences with "whom" in them but then to end the sentence with a preposition is disconcerting and takes from the period feel. As the author is capable of putting together a reasonable tale perhaps it is the fault of the editor who should be earning his/her money by noticing these faults and having them corrected before publication. However, an author with a true feeling for the language structure of the period should not be making these mistakes in the first place. The modern use of language and the modern lack of knowledge of correct English takes from the period feeling that is important for the story to flow. 11 of 11 people found the following review helpful. Delightful Romp By Tbrpro2 I thoroughly enjoyed reading this on my kindle. It was a bargain at 99 cents and I loved the characters and really enjoyed both romances--although the author used one of my least favorite devices towards the end, she wrapped it up nicely. 7 of 7 people found the following review helpful. A feel good book sweetly written. By k from md A great change from heavy subjects like politics and crime. I liked the characters and they developed nicely. It was quick read too. A feel good book sweetly written and would recommend for it. See all 69 customer reviews...

Many of her articles can found on her website, www.CherylBolen.com, and more recent ones on her blog, www.CherylsRegencyRamblings.wordpress.com. Readers are welcomed at both places. Cheryl holds a dual degree in English and journalism from the University of Texas, and she earned a master's degree from the University of Houston. She and her professor husband are the parents of two sons, one who is an attorney, and the other a journalist.
