By shelli 1017 ok let me say, that this book is cute. it talks about situations that do happen in a teens life. The book, is about a 15 yr old girl who has a cousin named Rose. There's a local bad boy in school, who has his eye on her cousin Rose. Afraid he would break Roses heart, she decides to flirt with the bad boy hoping he would forget about her cousin. however it back fires when she develops feelings for the boy. this book has jealousy, love, friendship, crushes, studying, everything a teen deals with daily. HOWEVER i was a bit disappointed though. i got this book for my daughter -- to do her book report for school. shes only 12. this book states its good for ages 11 and up i think, or 12 and up. none the less, i read a lot of the reviews and everyone says its good for preteens and teens ages 11 (or 12) and up. i cant remember exactly. but my daughters 12 and i would not have downloaded it if it wasn't in her age frame...the book starts off instantly talking about sexual acts.. nothing too vivid, but things like the boy put his hand up her shirt and was massaging her...... and stuff like that. i was unbelievably upset when my daughter came to me and said "mom, this book is bad.. it talks about sex alot".. and while i know i dont live under a rock, i know that sex among teens happens. but, personally for me, my daughter is 12, and she is still a child. sex is NOT in her vocabulary yet. I dont feel a 12 year old should be reading about teens engaging in sexual acts. like i said, i dont think there was anything TOO vivid, but any sex in a kids book is too much in my opinion. AND she stopped reading after a few chapters. I would NOT allow my child to watch a movie where the actors engage in more than a simple kiss, so i definitely did not find it appropriate for her to read a book that the characters are sex crazed either! especially the fact that they are TEENs -15 years old, in the book! like i said, i dont live under a rock, i know sex among teens happens- but as a parent, i encourage my child to wait. the last thing i would want is for her to think at age 15-- its OKAY and normal.PLUS like i said this was to be for a BOOK REPORT for her school! which she also had to do a ORAL speech in front of the class about the book she read. THIS WAS DEFINITELY NOT APPROPRIATE! at least not for a 12 year old!! maybe a 16 year old, but NOT a child. i had to find a a different book for her to read, at the last minute and she had to finish the entire thing in a few days. which is fine, for me as a adult, but shes young, and is in school most of the day-- than sports and clubs after school, so it was a stressful week for her to get it done before the report was due. THE AGE NEEDS TO BE CHANGED ON THIS BOOK. there are multiple books in this series, i am willing to bet they are all like this! The book itself - the little i did read, was good. BUT the age, is way off! 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Flirting Games By Jessa Schoech This is a good book to read when bored, but in my opinion, not exactly good enough to reread later on.I've always been attracted towards the school drama books, where the girl falls for the popular guy, and the popular guy falls for the nobody girl. That is this book, except he is a known player, making a strategy on how to get his next conquest. He thrives on getting those nobody, shy girls. When Nate finds the one who doesn't exactly go by his rules, he's stuck on her. Elle just wants to protect her cousin from getting hurt and pulls his interest away from her cousin and onto her. Little does she know, she's in danger of falling for him herself. She doesn't know he feels the same for her, instead believing he's choosing other girls as well as her at the same time. It's a bunch of idiocy.Something that really turned me off this book was all the different perspectives. You get a look into the thoughts of the beat friends of Elle and Nate, as well as her brother and his crush, but you don't see enough of them at all. It bugged me like no other.I am a bit disappointed that this book only rated three stars in my eyes. I had hoped for more when I got it. 25 of 32 people found the following review helpful. if this was my teen.. By daisy Skanky. It's about the only word I can't think of for a small high school girl who uses her thigh to massage a stranger's groin…all in the first few chapters. You don't get time to know the characters before you see them manipulating each other through sexual flirtations, for some vague agenda which shifts before chapter 4. I mean, really? This book takes mature adult interactions into the high school in great and tasteless details. Not my bag. See all 110 customer reviews...
