She has done a fantastic job fleshing out all of her characters By Lisa Ks Book s I’ve wanted to be a part of a book club for some time now. Thanks to author Laura DiSilverio I get to be in one each time I read a new book in her Book Club Mystery series.Ms. DiSilverio has come a long way since the first book in this series, THE READAHOLICS AND THE FALCON FIASCO (which I really enjoyed). She has done a fantastic job fleshing out all of her characters. It’s been fun to watch them grow.Book three in the Book Club Mysteries, THE READAHOLICS AND THE GOTHIC GALA, was an excellent story with a mystery that gave me chills. I loved the gothic angle in the plot. It made for some wonderful reading. The best in the series to date, this fast moving, exciting book kept me reading much later then I had intended. But once into the story, I couldn’t possible worry about sleep. I had to know whodunit. I have to tell you, it was totally worth being tired the whole next day!If you’re in a book club, check out this series for making fun comparisons. With your group. If you’re not in a book group, the Book Group Mysteries will have you wanting to start one! 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Novels, Authors, Murder And Secrets By verasbookreviewsandstuff THE STORY LINE:The Readaholics, of Heaven Colorado, are in the thick things again with the Celebration of Gothic Novels. In anticipation of the event, their latest reading, du Maurier's Rebecca, has set the atmosphere of Gothic suspense and mystery. The event includes authors, Gothic backdrops, costume party, and of course, murder most foul. Who knew how hard authors were to manage and keep in line! What follows is a first class mystery with intrigue, secrets, resentment, deception, egos, and of course, murder.Come along as Amy-Faye Johnson, event organizer and coördinator, her boyfriend chief of detectives Lindell Hart, and assorted characters, solve the latest mysteries, murder, and secrets revealed to all, and you will not want to miss these revelations.CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, AND DEVELOPMENT:Author Laura DiSilverio has plotted an entertaining mystery novel filled with many suspects. The plot was well paced and developed. The main characters, Amy-Faye and handsome Detective Hart's are skillfully developed by Ms. DiSilverio. The secondary characters were woven masterfully into the story-line; the authors have hidden secrets that Amy-Faye and the gang will ferret out. Ms. DiSiolverio developed each character to its full potential.I found Ms. DiSilverio's writing style refreshing, clear, and clean. I am particularly drawn to the cozy mysteries and this one is well done and met my expectations. I found the timing of the mystery, revelations, and resolution was spot on without requiring fluff to fill or extent the page count. Ms. DiSilverio skillfully brought all the clues, plots, and characters together to form a cohesive cozy murder mystery that will delight the reader..RECOMMENDATION: STARS 4I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. I really enjoyed this book By Lisa reviewer at Haven't Got A Clue This is the first book I've read in this series featuring Amy-Faye Johnson. Amy-Faye is an event planner and she is busy planning the Celebration of Gothic Novels in Heaven, Colorado. With guest authors arriving and parties to set up for, Amy-Faye doesn't have time to solve a murder as well. When an out of state mystery guest turns up dead, it's up to Amy-Faye and her book club The Readaholics to solve the mystery.I really enjoyed this book. The plot was interesting and I loved the characters in the story as well. I look forward to catching up on the rest of this great series.I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my fair and honest review. See all 4 customer reviews...
