Tricky Dick is back! By Robert Geist This book is the second installment in the Tricky Dick Key West Mystery series. The action picks up where the first book, "Talk Murder To Me" left off. (Side note: If you haven't already read the first book, now would be a good time to buy it. Not only is it an excellent book, but it will give you a thorough introduction to the characters, locales and events so far.) Like the first book, this is a thrill ride of mystery, intrigue, plot twists and quirky characters with some added doses of humor, philosophy and romance (or lust, depending upon your point of view). And another dead guy. Because what would a good mystery be without a dead guy?Bottom line: this is a good read, one that is hard to put down. Seriously. I started the book late one night but was too tired to get past the first few chapters. Picked it back up a couple days later when I had some free time and finished it in one sitting. Which is probably some kind of record for me because I have the attention span of a honey bee in a field of clover. Yes, Tricky Dick is back and he's even trickier and dickier!Oh, did I mention there's a talking manatee? Really, there is. Sort of an aquatic Obi Wan. What's not to like? 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. As fun as the first one! By M. Biazza This book picks up right where "Talk Murder to Me" left off. It is an easy read with interesting characters and a story line which makes it hard to put down. If you enjoy stories from the tropics, and if Key West is a favorite place, then this is a MUST read. Jack Terry is a creative author who can keep your attention while making you wonder what will happen in the next chapter.I can't wait until the third installment! See all 3 customer reviews...
About the Author Jack Terry has made a modest living by immodestly following his heart's desires, and that includes writing. Born and raised in central Connecticut, Jack attended NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. Armed with a prestigious, if slightly impractical, degree in theater he did what most people in his family had done before him: hightailed it to San Francisco. That began a lifestyle lasting more than 20 years which has seen Jack live and work in various places across the country, first while pursuing acting before transitioning into writing, the whole time paying his bills by saying "shaken or stirred?" For five years he spent working on both those skills by living in Key West. During this time he managed to win recognition for his writing, travel the country talking about rum, and most importantly get to learn a little bit about life on an island that's also at the end of the road. Most of Jack's writing has been best described as "slice of life...with a twist." Exploring issues of loss, redemption and love, he is not afraid to push the boundaries of traditional fiction, just a little bit, to create a world that looks just enough like the one the reader is familiar with that the differences, when they appear, do not come with a sudden surprise but rather slip silently through the side door.
