GIANTS ANNOUNCE TENTATIVE 2012 SCHEDULE

The San Francisco Giants are scheduled to kick off their 2012 campaign at Arizona on Friday, April 6 and play their home opener against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday, April 13, the club announced today. It will be the ninth time since 2000 that the club has opened the season on the road.

Following the opening road trip to Arizona and Colorado, the Giants will return to the Shores of McCovey Cove for their first homestand of the year with a three-game series against both the Pirates and Philadelphia Phillies.

The 2012 season will feature an unbalanced schedule in which the Giants will play 18 games against each of their four National League West rivals — Arizona, Colorado, Los Angeles and San Diego.

The Giants will face the American League West in interleague play, with a three-game home series against their 2010 World Series opponent Texas Rangers June 8-10, followed by a nine-game road trip to Seattle, Anaheim and Oakland June 15- 24.
